Public-Private Partnerships for Water Supply and Sanitation

The Partners

The initiative is a collaboration between two Swiss Government agencies, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (seco), together with the global reinsurance company Swiss Re. Their common objective in this initiative is to enable optimal use of PPP as one of the options and to contribute to the overall performance improvements of water supply and sanitation services. While Swiss Re contributed its risk expertise in this partnership, SDC and seco placed additional emphasis on improving the sustainability and poverty focus of PPPs.
